NTA 8288 becomes new standard for PE electrofusion welding

Under the guidance of the Netherlands Standardisation Institute (NEN), market parties are realising a new standard for ‘electrofusion welding in PE piping’ to replace VM102. Renewed requirements and uniform agreements on the processing of electrofusion sockets are aimed at improving the quality and reliability of connections in piping systems. Among others, network operators, contractors and suppliers, but also knowledge institutions, participate in the process to realise the Dutch Technical Agreement (NTA). QS is also actively participating in the process, contributing its knowledge in the field of Testing, Inspection and Certification.

The NTA 8828 is expected to be published in autumn 2015. The adoption of this new standard also has implications for welding courses and personal certifications. QS will incorporate the new regulations in the course materials and training design, in order to be able to offer these to its relations shortly after the adoption of the NTA 8828, which will be completely up-to-date.
